Rei Kawakubo is a Japanese-American designer known for creating never-before-seen garments that push past gender and social norms. Hidden Figures is a mock exhibition showcasing her collection “Body Meets Dress, Dress Meets Body,” which represents Kawakubo’s approach to fashion design: She puts aside the desires of female forms and exaggerates the natural body.
