Children’s Day, or Kodomo no hi (子供の日), in Japan celebrates the growth and happiness of children by hanging koinoboris, or large carp streamers, to represent resilience and strength. Kou-un na Koinobori (幸運なこいのぼり) is inspired by the deep appreciation for Japanese culture and omamori, a Japanese amulet holding various forms of good luck. I incorporate Japanese talismans in this design, creating a truly lucky koinobori.
